As part of the huge event that was Dubai Expo 2020, HQWS were commissioned to design, develop, program and operate the Expo Sport Arena.

A multi-purpose 5300sqm space programmed over months with grandstands, sport facilities (both BOH and FOH), several different sporting events with various sporting bodies and partners coming in under the expo banner with HQWS at the centre of supporting these entities both in planning and execution, all while relating these events back to the overarching brand of Expo.

 

With the programming variation, the site saw multiple turnarounds in layout and functionality whilst retaining the overlay and infrastructure.

HQWS took this consideration into our design process with the real world execution seeing the switchover between some events conducted in as little as 12 hours.
