With an audience of over 2,000 royals, dignitaries, global leaders and international students, Burj Park Island provided the perfect setting for an opening ceremony of soaring proportions.

A powerful mix of ceremony, music, culture, futuristic special effects and an exciting programme that included a truly inspirational performance by the UAE’s first ‘rap’ act and a computerised tracking projection screen that opened to reveal an astounding vertical drumming show 40 metres above ground and choreographed to the spectacular Dubai fountains.

The event also witnessed the record-breaking climb of the 828m tall Burj Khalifa by famous climber Alain Robert the ‘French Spiderman’.
